This is one of my most favorite pictures that I have taken. I love this picture for many reasons. First off, this picture was kind of my start to really taking photography seriously. I knew I loved photography but when I brought this picture home and everyone loved it, I knew I wanted to be a more serious photographer. Also I love traveling and this was taken on my very first time I ever left the states. My dream is to travel the world and take pictures like this one, so this is kind of like my inspiration. Also I love Paris and the Eiffel tower! It symbolizes so much!

favorite photo
This is one of my favorite photos taken by Abbey Road in 1969 of the Beatles. I love how there all walking across the street in sync and its not blurry. I think its a really cool picture and how it has a great depth of field.
This is one of my favorite photographs because it is a combination of new and old. This is the recreation of the New York Construction works eating lunch on a cross beam, "Lunch Atop a Skyscraper" by Charles C. Ebbets. The reason why I love this picture is because it puts a fun twist to an old classic photograph, really capturing the same essence of the original only this time with Legos. This is one of many of Mike Stimpson's Lego photography that i admire.
Favorite Photo
My favorite photo was shot when the volcano in Chile erupted. I really like it because it shows the power of the eruption. With the long exposure time you can see everything that occurs when the volcano erupted. The photographer is Francisco Negroni and I found the photo through National Geographic.

Hello,
I would like to introduce myself. My name is Pakou Lee.
Rhode Island is where the heart is, I grew up in Providence. However, I was not born here. I was born in Thailand, and lived there until I was 7.
Here are some cool facts about me; I’m adventurous, I love to skydive and I belong to an adventurous club in Boston, MA. I design and donate my time to community services through Canstruction, Recycling Center of Rhode Island and SideWalk Sam. I grow organic vegetables and Asian spices. I’m interested in architecture, textiles and photography. I also love photo editing.
In three years’ time I would like to be… to be honest I really don’t know. However, I would like to master sewing, and photography. Maybe one day, opening up my own line of jewelry or clothing, and selling my photography work. Life is a curved ball and I’m really not sure of what’s in my path, but if I fail I’ll aim higher. My expecting in this course is to get as much knowledge about photography as I can. To understand the process, development, color, and editing.

Favorite Photograph
This is one of my favorite photographs. This is not one of my own (and I have not been able to find the artist). It is from a series of long exposures in Maniwa and Okayama, Japan of fireflies. I think that this is so beautiful and it gives this a magical feel, as if this forest was enchanted. I love how some fireflies are captured very up close to the camera and tiny specks of light can still be seen way back in the forest. The way time is captured here is really interesting, you can see each spot that the firefly glowed on its trails through the trees
A favorite picture of mine
I didn't take this photo- a friend had my camera, but the way the background is almost completely whited out while the building's floor is so vibrant is interesting to me. I wish that the camera had been able to focus on me a little bit more, but it's pretty good for a picture in motion. (yes, that is a picture of me...)
I have many favorite photographs and it is somewhat difficult to choose just one. With this in mind, one photograph that will always be imbedded into my memory is one that was on the cover of National Geographic. The photograph shows a 12-year old refugee who was at a camp on the Afghanistan/Pakistan border. What amazes me is her piercing green eyes that pop against the contrasting burnt orange of her hood. The photographer, Steve McCurry, was able to capture her emotion right then and there and make it understandable to the viewer. She looks scared but confident in a way because of her direct stare. It is truly amazing just how expressive eyes can really be and to have the ability to capture that in a photograph is awe-inspiring.

seaglass(elaine stannard)
I have returned to take a class after graduating from URI- a few years ago. Many years ago, I used to shoot , had a darkroom and sold some black and whites in a little shop. I also shot meditations for silent retreats.
I have recently moved back to Narragansett, and live by the sea with my little Bichon name Eli Porter. We were wandering around and stopping in shops and saw photos of the light house and tower everywhere. I took some shots and returned to one of the shops, and received an order.
She also wants to help me find other vendors.
